Initial Phone Consultation
SDYP provides a free initial 15-minute call to assess whether SDYP is the right fit for you.
Private Pay
Therapy: The initial session with Dr. Hennig is $300 with subsequent sessions at $250/45-minute session. Additional fees apply for added time.
Evaluations: Due to the individualized nature of psychological evaluations, out-of-pocket rates range depending on the number of tests, cost of tests and time required to complete the assessment process. Testing is $250 per hour. Most evaluations range from $2,000-$4,950.
SDYP provides a 'Good Faith Estimate' prior to testing and therapy. Please call for further details and estimate.
Insurance and Other Networks
Medi-Cal: Dr. Patel accepts straight Medi-Cal plans for child and adolescent psychological evaluations for residents of San Diego County. We do not accept any managed care Medi-Cal plans (e.g. Blue Shield Promise, Molina, Kaiser, or CHG). None of our therapists are in-network to provide therapy via Medi-Cal at this time.

Managed Care Plans: We are in-network to provide psychological evaluations through Aetna, UHC/Optum, Tricare/TriWest, and Cigna/Evernorth. Our therapist is in-network with Aetna for therapy services.

Other Networks: For evaluations, select providers also vendor with San Diego Regional Center and contract with San Diego TERM. Therapy services are NOT provided through these networks.

Out-Of-Network
Some insurance plans, such as most PPO plans, may offer partial out-of-network reimbursement for services. SDYP offers superbills to those seeking reimbursement from their insurance provider. It is recommended that you inquire with your insurance for more details on reimbursement.
